Hi, I’m Joanna Derengowska—photographer, storyteller, and founder of Lumeworks, a portrait studio in West Seattle that celebrates creative expression.
Born in Poland, I studied Theatre at the historic Jagiellonian University, where I discovered the power of storytelling. That Eastern European perspective still shapes how I see the world—and how I frame it.
After moving to Seattle in 2014, I shifted from the stage to the lens, earning a photography certificate from UW. I’ve blended my cultural heritage with a modern approach to photography.
My work—ranging from street to social to nature—has appeared in Polish publications like Newsweek and on major TV stations. I’ve trained with photographers around the world, from the U.S. to Mexico to South Korea.
Lumeworks is where it all comes together—a creative space for vibrant portraits that reflect the unique you.
